Our factory is down at Plot No. 121 in the Hector Expansion Area. This is part of the New GIDC in Umargam. It’s quite a way out from the main town center, so it’s a bit quieter than some of the older industrial zones. We deal with PET products here. The machines run almost all day long, making that steady clicking and whirring sound that you eventually stop hearing. It’s not a massive operation, just a few lines going at a time. The air inside always smells a bit like warm plastic, which is something you get used to after working here for a while. We have a small office space at No. 52 where we keep all the records and take our phone calls. The area around here is still developing quite fast, so there’s always some construction noise and new sheds going up nearby. Sometimes the power goes out without warning, and we all just have to sit outside in the shade and wait for it to come back on. It usually gives us a good chance to talk and have some hot chai together. We’ve got a small group of local guys who handle all the loading and unloading of the trucks. They’ve been with us since we first moved into this plot. Umargam is a good place for this kind of industrial work because other suppliers are close by. We don't have a website or anything. People just know us from being around the GIDC for so long. It is just what we do.
