Ahura Fire & Safety

You can find us at Shop No- 7 inside the Gram Panchayat Shopping Center in Nanakwada. It is a small shop, but we have managed to pack it full of all sorts of fire and safety equipment. There are fire extinguishers of every size lined up along the walls and stacks of safety signs and bright vests in the corners. We started Ahura Fire & Safety because we noticed that a lot of the local workshops and small businesses didn't have easy access to basic safety gear. It is not a very glamorous business, but it is important for the neighborhood. We spend a lot of our time checking valves and making sure the pressure gauges are where they should be. The shopping center is a busy place with people coming in for all sorts of things, so there is always some conversation going on. We don't have a corporate office or a marketing team. It is just us here, usually drinking tea and waiting for the next customer to walk in. We keep things simple and honest. If someone doesn't need a certain piece of equipment, we tell them. We prefer to have customers who trust us and come back next year when their gear needs a check-up. The afternoons can get pretty quiet and hot, so we usually use that time to organize the stock. We have lived in Nanakwada for most of our lives, so we know most of the people who walk past our door every day.
