We operate Marigold Paint from C-1/10 G.I.D.C Estate. Being in the industrial estate means we are surrounded by other factories and warehouses. Our place is usually smelling like pigment and chemicals, which is expected since we make paint. It’s a lot of mixing and stirring in big vats. Sometimes the colors get everywhere, on our clothes and the floor. We don't worry too much about a little spill here and there. We’ve got a routine down now. One guy handles the mixing, another looks after the canning. It’s steady work. We don't have a fancy showroom. If you want to see the colors, we just show you the actual tins or a sample board we’ve painted on the wall. The G.I.D.C area is always buzzing with activity, so there’s never a quiet moment. We’ve been making these batches for years. Some days we are doing whites and grays, other days it’s bright yellows or reds. It depends on what’s needed that week. We keep the inventory stacked high on the pallets. It’s a bit cramped in the office part of the building, but we spend most of our time on the factory floor anyway. It’s a straightforward business. We make the paint, pack it, and send it out to the shops. That’s about all there is to it at our spot in the estate. We like the work and the people we deal with daily.
