Utkarsh Food Products

So, we started Utkarsh Food Products here in Village Govindpur a while back because there wasn't much else going on around this part of Gularbhoj. The post office is a bit of a walk from here but we go there every other day to check for letters or any documents. Most mornings it is just the three of us getting things ready before the sun gets too high because the shed gets really warm by noon. We don’t have any big fancy signs or anything, just the gate and the space where we process everything. Living and working in the same village means everyone knows what we are doing anyway so we don't need to shout about it. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside on the benches near the door and wait for it to come back on. My brother handles the deliveries when the truck comes by to pick up the orders for the week. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting the heavy sacks and making sure nothing gets wet if it starts raining suddenly. We use some old machines that make a lot of noise, but they get the job done for now. Sometimes people from the nearby houses come over to see if we have anything ready to sell right then. We usually just tell them to wait a bit until we finish the current batch. It is a quiet life overall except for the machine hum.
