Umaid Community Foundation

Umaid Community Foundation is based at Sukan Ray’s house, which is House Number 2 in Village Umaidpur. We are part of the Morwa South panchayat. It is a very local setup here in the Umaidpur Tola. Most of us have lived in this village our whole lives. We started this because there were always things that needed fixing or people who needed a bit of extra help. We don't have a formal office with desks and chairs. Instead, we usually just sit on the porch or in the main room of Sukan Ray's house. It is a very direct way of working. If a neighbor has an issue, they just walk over and talk to us. We handle a lot of different things, mostly small stuff that makes a difference in the daily life of the village. The Morwa area is quiet, and we like it that way. Sometimes it is hard to get supplies or find enough hands to help, but we manage. We are not trying to be a big organization. We just want to look after our own corner of the world. The kids play outside while we talk about the local projects. It is a very simple way of doing things. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just know where we are. It feels good to work right where we live and see the results every day in the village. It is just about being neighbors.
