Ram Flawar Mills

Ram Flawar Mills is located in Building Number 203 in Hajipur. If you’re looking for us, the easiest way to find the place is to head toward the Ram Janki Temple, as we are right near there. You can usually hear the machines running before you see the building itself. It’s a busy, dusty environment because of all the grinding and milling going on. There’s always a thin layer of white flour on everything, no matter how much we sweep. The building is old and sturdy, built to handle the weight and vibration of the equipment. We don’t have a fancy office; it’s mostly just the mill floor and a small corner where we sit down to take a break or talk to customers. The bells from the temple next door ring throughout the day, which is a nice background sound to the mechanical hum of the mill. We get a lot of local people coming through, carrying bags and chatting about the weather or the local news. It’s a very hands-on kind of job, and we usually go home with flour in our hair and on our clothes. We’ve been in Hajipur for a long time, and the routine hasn't changed much over the years. We show up, turn on the power, and get to work until the sun goes down and the temple lights come on.
