Jaiswal Hardware

The shop is right on Patori Road here in Jandaha. We’ve been at this spot for a while now, sitting quite close to the State Bank of India. It’s a busy part of town so there’s always people walking by or stopping in when they realize they need a specific bolt or a new hammer. Jaiswal Hardware isn't some fancy showroom. We just keep the shelves stocked with whatever folks in the neighborhood usually ask for. Most mornings start with unlocking the front gate and sweeping the dust off the counter before the first customer shows up looking for plumbing parts or some paint. It gets a bit crowded inside when we have a lot of stock delivered. Boxes of nails and stacks of tools take up a lot of room. Sometimes the traffic outside near the bank gets backed up, but we just keep doing what we do. People know where to find us if they’re working on a project at home. It’s mostly just us handling the day-to-day work, making sure we have enough wire or pipes for whoever comes in. We don't spend much time on the computer or anything like that. If someone needs a bucket or a shovel, they just walk in and ask. That’s how it works here. The rainy season makes things a bit messy on the road, but the shop stays dry enough. We just stay busy with the local crowd. I usually have a quick tea in the afternoon while watching the cars go by and waiting for the next person.
