Aryaunnati Nidhi Limited is tucked away in Village Nilkanthpur, which is part of the Mahua block in Vaishali district. If you are looking for us, you have to drive down some of the smaller roads past the fields. The air out here is usually a bit cleaner than in the bigger towns, though it gets very dusty when the wind picks up during the dry months. Our office is a simple building that fits right in with the rest of the village houses. We don't have any bright neon lights or anything like that, just a plain door and a small nameplate. Inside, we have a couple of heavy wooden tables and some cupboards filled with files that have been there for years. We do a lot of our writing by hand, sitting under the light of a couple of tube lights that flicker sometimes when the power fluctuates. It’s a very local operation, and we know most of the people who walk through the door by their first names. Sometimes a stray dog will sit on the porch to stay out of the rain, and we don't really mind. Work starts early in the morning before it gets too hot, and we usually wrap things up by late afternoon. It is quiet work for the most part, just tracking numbers and keeping the books in order. We don't have any big corporate plans, just staying here and doing what we do every day.
