Perumalil Granites & Constructions

Our place, Perumalil Granites & Constructions, is tucked away in Village Arunnootti Mangalam. It’s part of the Vaikom taluka here in the Kottayam district. Being out in the village means things are a bit different than the big city shops. We deal with a lot of heavy stones and construction materials every day. It’s hard work, and by the end of the day, everything is covered in a layer of granite dust. You’ll see slabs of stone leaning against the walls and piles of sand or gravel depending on what’s going on. We don’t have a fancy showroom. What you see is what we’re working with. People from around the district come to us when they’re building something new or fixing up an old house. We know the land around here pretty well. It’s a family-run feel, even if we’re not all related. We just get on with the tasks, loading up trucks and talking to the drivers. Sometimes the Kerala rain makes the yard a bit of a muddy mess, but that’s just how it goes in this part of the country. We don’t put on any acts or try to sound like a big international firm. We’re just local people in Vaikom doing construction work. It’s a lot of lifting and measuring, but it’s what we know. The village life is quiet, but our yard is usually humming with some kind of activity, whether it's the sound of a saw or just someone calling out.
