At Plot No. 353, 188/7 in the GIDC Estate of Waghodia, you will find our industrial unit. Being out here in the Vadodara district means we are surrounded by other factories and lots of open roads. We work with alloys, which is a tough and hot business. The furnaces stay hot for most of the shift, and the air has that metallic tang to it. We keep our tools organized on a big shadow board, though things often end up on the workbenches anyway. Our office is a simple room with a couple of chairs and a big table for blueprints and invoices. It’s usually covered in a thin layer of dust from the estate roads. We drink a lot of water and usually have our meals together in the break area. There isn't any corporate talk here. We just discuss the production numbers and which truck is arriving next. The GIDC area is quiet at night, but during the day it’s full of life. We’ve grown accustomed to the vibration of the heavy machinery nearby. Sometimes we have to stay over to watch a cooling cycle, but that’s just the way it is. We don't have any flashy signs out front. People who need us usually know exactly where to find us. It’s just a group of people working hard in the heat of Gujarat to get the orders filled. It's a long day, but we've been doing this for so long that it feels like home now.
