Vohra Engg. Works

Vohra Engineering Works is located at 92, Darbar Chok in Vadodara. This is a very old and busy part of Gujarat. Our workshop is right in the middle of all the activity. It’s an engineering place, so it is definitely not clean or polished. There is the smell of oil and metal everywhere, and the floors are usually covered in dust or shavings. We have been here for a long time and the building shows its age. We have all kinds of tools and machines that we use for our daily work. People from around Vadodara bring us things to fix or parts to be made. It’s a noisy environment with the sound of grinding and welding going on throughout the day. We don't have an office with fancy chairs. We mostly just have a small desk in the corner where we keep the books and answer the phone. Darbar Chok is a crowded area, so getting materials in and out can be a bit of a challenge sometimes. We drink a lot of tea and just focus on getting the work done. It’s a practical, local business. We don't do any advertising; people just know we are here at number 92. Our hands are usually dirty by the time the day ends, but that is just part of the job. It’s a traditional engineering shop and we like being part of the local community.
