If you look for us, we are at Plot No. 221 in the Aswamegh Complex. It is right opposite the tempo stand, so there is always a lot of shouting and engines revving outside our doors. Being near the Market Cross Road means there is never a dull moment on Raj Mahal Road. At Vinayak Energy, we deal with a lot of heavy parts and electrical equipment. The office is tucked away in the back of the complex, past a few other shops selling hardware and general goods. It is a bit of a maze to find us the first time. Inside, there are stacks of papers and maybe some batteries or components sitting on the floor waiting to be moved to a job site. We have a couple of old desks and a calendar from three years ago still hanging up because nobody bothered to take it down. The light inside isn't great, but we have enough lamps to see what we are doing. We usually eat our lunch together at the big table in the middle. It is a very local setup. We know the neighbors, and we know the guys driving the tempos across the street. Even when it rains heavily and the road gets muddy, we still keep the place open. We just do our work with the energy equipment and try to stay out of the midday heat. It’s often dusty and loud, but it is our workspace and we are used to the chaos.
