V D Marble Art

Our workshop is located on R S Nimkar Marg in Vadodara. We spend our time working with marble and stone to make different items for people. You will usually hear the loud sound of the cutting machines before you even walk through the door. There is white stone dust everywhere, on the floor and on our clothes. It is a messy job, but we have been doing it so long we do not even notice anymore. We take raw slabs of heavy stone and cut them down into the shapes that people want for their houses. It is heavy work and it takes a lot of patience to get it right. Sometimes we find a crack in the marble that we did not see at first, and we have to start the whole thing over. That is just what happens when you work with natural materials like stone. We are not a big factory. There are just a few of us here doing the labor. We do not have a fancy showroom for people to walk through. Most of our finished pieces are just leaning against the walls or sitting on the ground. People come by to pick out a specific stone they like or to explain a design they have in mind. We do not use any big marketing words. We just show the work we have done. It is an honest way to make a living.
