Suresh M Shah

My office for Suresh M Shah is situated in the Chandan Building, which is number 21 on Lalbaug Road. We are right by Jubilee Baug and very close to Sardar Bhawan. It’s a historic part of the town, and you can really feel that history when you walk through the streets. The building itself has been around for quite a while. My room is on one of the upper floors, and I have a decent view of the activity around the park. It’s a busy area, especially in the evenings when families come out to the garden. I’ve been working here for decades. My office is filled with books and files that I’ve collected over all those years. It’s not a modern, minimalist space. It’s more like a library where I can get my work done in peace. I don't have a large staff helping me. I prefer to handle most things myself so I know exactly what is going on. People know they can find me here most days. We sit in the old wooden chairs and talk through whatever they’ve come to see me about. I think there’s a lot of value in that kind of personal connection. No one is just a number here. The stairs in the building might be a little steep for some, but I don’t mind the climb. It keeps me active. I plan to stay here and keep doing my work.
