Sthapatya Rachana

Sthapatya Rachana is based in Vadodara, over at Annadanappa Lane, house number A/101. It is an old part of town, and the lane is quite narrow, so it stays a bit cooler in the summer than the main roads. We are a small design firm, and our office is quite modest. We have a few desks, some computers, and a lot of old books on architecture and building. We spend our mornings going through emails and our afternoons visiting various sites around the city. We do not have a big corporate structure or managers. It is just a few people who like to draw and plan things out. We talk to a lot of local masons and contractors to get things built. This involves a lot of standing around in the sun and checking levels. We try to be practical about everything. If someone has a small budget, we look for ways to make it work without cutting too many corners. We have been in Vadodara for a long time, so we have seen the city grow and change quite a bit. Our office isn't anything special to look at, but it is where we do our best thinking. We do not use any complicated software that we do not need. Just the basics to get the plans ready. We like the quiet of our lane and the steady pace of the work we do.
