About Sixface Denim – Fashion & Trends in Vadodara
Over at 26 Sayajigun, you’ll find Sixface Denim. It’s a bit of a rugged place because dealing with denim is heavy work. The fabric rolls are large and they weigh a lot, so we get a good workout just moving them from the truck into the shop. The floor is mostly concrete because it needs to hold all that weight. We don’t have much in the way of decorations; it’s mostly just shelves and cutting tables. The smell of denim is very distinct, a bit like indigo and starch, and it sticks to your clothes by the end of the shift. We’ve been here in Sayajigun for a while, and the neighborhood has its own rhythm. There’s a small tea stall nearby where we go when we need a break from the noise of the machines or the heavy lifting. It's mostly just me and a couple of guys working here. We don't talk much when we're busy, we just get on with the task at hand. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside on the steps until it comes back on. It’s a straightforward business. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a fancy office. We just focus on the denim and making sure the pieces are cut right. It’s dusty and tiring, but at the end of the day, it feels good to see the stacks ready to go. Our days are long, but we’ve gotten used to the pace here. We just handle the orders and keep moving.
