This office is tucked away in North Kolkata, on Baniatola Street right near Hatkhola. It is a very old part of the city with narrow lanes and a lot of history in the bricks. We are located at number 14, care of Bulbul Saha. It is a busy neighborhood, always full of people, rickshaws, and small shops selling all sorts of things. Working in infrastructure from this specific location is interesting because of how tight the streets are for our vehicles. We manage various projects across the city from this small base. It is definitely not a shiny new office building. It has that classic old Kolkata feel with thick walls and high ceilings that stay a bit cooler. We spend a lot of time on the phone or out at different construction sites. The heat and the humidity here can be brutal during the summer, especially when we are out on a bridge site or working on a road. We just do what we need to do to get things done. There is no big sign or flashy neon lights outside our door. Most people just know who we are through the work we have already finished around West Bengal over the years. It is practical and a bit chaotic, much like the streets right outside. We drink a lot of tea and try to stay organized despite the piles of paperwork.
