At Shyam Industries Vadodara, we spend our days at No. 886/4 A on Makarpura Gidc Road. If you know the area, you know it is all about industry and moving goods. Our shed is pretty much like any other on this stretch, filled with the hum of machines and the smell of grease. We have been operating here for quite some time, and the road outside is always busy with traffic and people moving between different factories. Inside, it is mostly about getting the metal worked on and following the specs we have been given. The floor is concrete and has some oil stains that have been there for years, no matter how much we try to scrub them. We usually have the radio playing somewhere in the background to keep the energy up while we work. It’s a practical space without any unnecessary frills. There is a small corner with a table where we handle the paperwork and take our tea breaks. The metal roofing makes it loud when it rains, and it gets pretty warm during the summer months in Vadodara, but that is just part of working in GIDC. Most of our time is spent checking the output and making sure the machines are running like they should. We don't really do anything besides focus on the jobs we have in front of us. It is a straightforward way to spend the day at No. 886/4 A, just getting the work done and keeping things moving.
