Shree Somabhai Lining Works

You'll find us right across from the Hanuman Temple near Adaniya Pool. It’s a very local spot on Kalupura Road in Fatehpura. We do lining work, which is mostly about fabrics and materials for clothes or bags. The shop is full of rolls of cloth and heavy sewing machines. It’s loud when all the machines are running at once. We’ve been in this neighborhood for a long time. The temple bells ring in the morning, and it’s a nice way to start the day. People bring us their items, and we add the linings they need. It’s manual work that requires a steady hand. My father started this, and we just keep it going. The space is a bit cramped because of all the stock we keep. We don't have a website or fancy ads. People just know where we are. Sometimes the dust from the road gets inside, so we spend a lot of time cleaning. We chat with the other shopkeepers nearby while having tea. It’s a simple life. We spend a lot of time checking the stitching to make sure it is straight. If the lining isn't right, the whole garment feels wrong. We take our time with each piece.
