Shree Shankar Vijay Saw Mill

The saw mill is located right over by Refinery Char Rasta on Gorwa Road, near the Post Jawahar Nagar area in Jawahar Nagar. It gets pretty loud around here with the machines running, but that's just the nature of the work. We've been at this spot for quite some time now. Shree Shankar Vijay Saw Mill isn't some high-tech factory; it's mostly wood, sawdust, and a lot of heavy lifting. Most days start early, before the sun is even fully up, to get the logs moved into place. The yard is usually full of different types of timber waiting to be cut down to size. It gets dusty, especially in the summer months, so we’re always sweeping up. Our location near the refinery makes it easy for trucks to find us, though the traffic on Gorwa Road can be a real headache in the afternoons. We have a small crew of guys who have been with us for years. They know the machines inside and out. We don't spend much time on fancy talk or decorations. The office is just a corner of the shed with a sturdy table and some old ledgers. People come by, tell us what dimensions they need, and we get to cutting. It’s hard work, and your clothes will definitely end up covered in wood chips by the end of the shift. We’ve been meaning to fix the fence out front, but the wood business keeps us too busy.
