Being right opposite the Shiyapura police station makes it easy for people to find us, which is good because this part of Raopura can get quite busy. Our office for B. Shaileshkumar Co. at number 105 in Shiyapura is where we spend most of our daylight hours. It’s a typical workspace with desks, some old filing cabinets, and the usual hum of a ceiling fan. We handle a lot of the day-to-day business tasks from here, mostly involving procurement and keeping track of where everything is going. The street outside is always noisy with motorcycles and the general sounds of the neighborhood. Sometimes the police sirens are going off or there’s a bit of a crowd nearby, but we just keep our heads down and get through the work. This company started a long time ago, and we’ve just stayed in this spot because it’s familiar. We don’t really change much around here. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, and the tea guy comes by twice a day, which is the highlight for most of us. We deal with various suppliers and try to make sure the books are correct at the end of every month. It’s not a complicated setup, just a group of us working in a space that’s seen a lot of years. We know the neighbors, and they know us, so there’s a nice sense of community even when things get hectic with orders or paperwork.
