Shashin J Mehta Clinic

This is the Shashin J Mehta Clinic. We are tucked away in the Navjiven Shopping Centre, number 5 to be exact. Asoj is a quiet place most of the time compared to the big city, but we stay busy enough. The shopping center has a few other shops, and people usually find us easily because we’ve been here for a bit. The clinic isn't very big, just a couple of rooms where we do the work. It’s usually me or one of the assistants sitting at the front desk when someone walks in. We don't have a big neon sign, just a simple board with the name on it. Inside, the lights are bright, maybe a bit too bright sometimes, but it helps us see what we are doing during the exams. We’ve had the same chairs in the waiting room for years. They are still sturdy, even if they aren't the softest things to sit on. People come in with all sorts of small problems, or just for a regular checkup to see how they are doing. We spend a lot of time talking to folks from the nearby villages and houses. It’s nice to catch up on local news while we work. The floor gets a bit dusty because of the road outside, so we are always sweeping it. We keep a water cooler in the corner for anyone who is thirsty. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, so the fan is always running. We just open up, see who needs help, and go through the day. It’s a simple setup for the community here.
