You can find us in Vill Dang, right near the Bhairav Mandir in Srinagar. This is in the Pauri Garwhal district of Uttranchal. Working up here in the hills is quite different from being in the plains. Shapoorji Pallonji & Co.Ltd. set up this office to keep an eye on things in this region. The mountains are beautiful, but they make the work a bit more complicated with the winding roads and the weather. Our office is near the temple, which is a good landmark for anyone trying to find us. It’s a small, practical space. We don’t have much in the way of luxury. It’s mostly just desks, chairs, and a lot of jackets because it gets cold. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a fancy corporate image. We are just here to handle the construction projects in this part of the country. Most of us enjoy being out of the big cities, even if the commute to some sites takes a long time. We talk more about the terrain and the rainfall than we do about corporate strategy. It’s a real, working environment. People stop by, sometimes for a chat or to ask about the project, and we tell them what’s happening without any spin. It’s just us, working in the hills of Pauri Garwhal, trying to get the job finished before the next big season change. It’s a simple, honest way to work and live.
