Our place is located in the Jamnagar district of Gujarat. It is a wide area and we have been part of the local landscape for quite some time now. We work with glass, which means there is always a lot of care taken around the workspace every day. Jamnagar is known for all its big industries, and we fit right into that local rhythm. The building is large and functional, built mainly to hold a lot of heavy stock and crates. We do not have a fancy lobby or any decorations like that. When you walk in, you mostly see wooden crates and people in work clothes moving things around. The sea breeze comes in sometimes because we are not too far from the coast. We have a small office area tucked in the corner where we handle all the billing and the phone calls. It gets quite loud during the day with the big trucks coming and going from the yard. Most of us have been working here for many years, so we know the daily routine by heart. We take our tea breaks under the shade of a large tree outside when the sun gets too hot in the afternoon. There is no corporate talk here, just regular people getting through their shifts and making sure the glass gets where it needs to go. It is a tough job sometimes, but it is the work we know how to do.
