Our office is tucked away in 203 Maa Darshan Flats. We are right across from the Ambe Temple, which makes it very easy for people to find us when they are coming down Ajawa Road. Panchavati Society is a pretty active neighborhood in Baroda, so there is always some noise from the street or the temple bells. Our workspace is basically a converted flat. It’s got a bit of a lived-in feel to it. We have a few desks set up in what used to be the living room and some storage in the back. It’s not a corporate headquarters by any means. We handle various services from here and the phone rings more than we’d sometimes like. The staff here are locals who live nearby, so we all know the area well. We aren’t big on fancy decorations. We just have our calendars and a few piles of files that need attention. During the monsoon, we have to make sure the windows are shut tight, or things get damp. It’s a small, busy environment where everyone knows what their job is. We don’t spend money on polished brochures or big mission statements. We just show up every morning, drink some tea, and get to work on whatever is on the desk. It’s a simple way of doing things, but it works for us and the people we help out on a regular basis.
