Sainath Motor Driving School

The office here at G/16 on Ajwa Road is where we spend our days when we aren't out in the cars. It’s right on Dr Annie Besant Road, so there is always a lot of noise and movement outside. We started this driving school because people in this part of town needed a place that wasn't too complicated. You walk into the shop, and you'll probably see some old charts on the wall and a stack of forms on the table. It’s not a big corporate setup with fancy computers. We mostly rely on our notebooks and the keys hanging by the door. Teaching someone to drive on Ajwa Road can be a challenge with all the trucks and bikes, but that's how they learn best. We see all kinds of people, from young kids who just turned eighteen to older folks who finally decided they wanted to be independent. Most of them are scared of the busy intersections at first. We just take it slow. Sometimes the power goes out and we sit by the door to catch a breeze. It’s a local business, and we know many of the shopkeepers nearby. When a student finally gets their license, they usually come by to say thanks, and that makes the long hours in the heat worth it. We keep the cars maintained as best as we can, though the city roads are rough on the tires and the clutches always need checking.
