Revati Party Plot

This is our space in Vadodara, over in the Naline Park Society. It’s an open plot, so we deal with the weather a lot. When it rains, we have to move fast. It’s mostly used for weddings or big family things. We keep the grass cut and the edges trimmed. It takes a lot of work to keep an outdoor space looking okay. We have some basic lighting and a place for the caterers to set up. It’s not a hotel ballroom. It’s a plot of land where people can gather. We spend our days coordinating with people who want to book the space. It’s a lot of phone calls and writing things down in the ledger. We’ve been part of the Naline Park area for quite some time now. Neighbors usually know when there’s an event going on because of the lights. We try to keep the noise at a reasonable level. It’s a big responsibility, making sure everything is ready for someone’s big day. We just provide the ground and the basic setup. People bring their own decorations and stuff. It’s an honest way to make a living. We’re out there every morning making sure the place is clean. The Naline Park Society is a quiet enough neighborhood, which is why we have to be careful about the music at Revati Party Plot. We spend a lot of time on the phone with decorators who want to know the exact dimensions of the gate. I usually just tell them to come and measure it themselves. We have a small shed in the corner where we keep the extra chairs and some old folded tables. It’s dusty in there, but it’s useful. Managing an outdoor plot in Vadodara means you’re always looking at the clouds. We don't have a big office, just a desk and a chair near the entrance. Most of our work is done walking around the grass. We see a lot of happy families, which is the best part of the job. It’s a lot of sweeping up rose petals and bits of paper after a party is over. We don't have a marketing team. Word of mouth is how most people find us. It’s just a piece of land that we look after so people can have a good time. We keep it honest and keep it clean.
