Prutha Maternity Hospital

Located at 3 Shree Muktanand Society in Karelibaug, the Prutha Maternity Hospital is a place we have been running for quite some time now. We are situated in a residential part of the area, so we see the same faces walking by or heading to the shops every morning. The hospital itself is a place where we are always busy with the needs of new mothers and their little ones. It is not a corporate medical center; it feels more like a local building because that is exactly what it is. We have our daily routines of checking temperatures, filling out charts, and making sure the laundry is done. The rooms are simple and provide the basics for the families who stay with us. In Karelibaug, the weather can get quite hot in the summer months, so we spend a lot of time making sure the fans and cooling are working right for the comfort of the babies. There is often a lot of emotion in the building, from the nervousness of new parents to the relief of grandparents. We just try to stay steady and do the work that needs doing. We aren't into big speeches or fancy brochures. We just show up every day at Shree Muktanand Society and handle whatever the day brings. It is a place of hard work and very little sleep, but that is just the nature of a maternity hospital in our neighborhood.
