Pradeep Tyres

If you head toward the Goa Portuguesa area in Lokhandwala, you will find Pradeep Tyres. We are right on the main stretch where it gets pretty busy with cars and bikes all day long. The shop smells like fresh rubber, which I guess is what you would expect from a place like this. We have stacks of tyres piled up almost to the ceiling in some spots. It is a lot of physical work, rolling wheels in and out and using the jacks to lift up the cars. We do not have a clean waiting room with a TV or anything like that. Most people just stand around and watch us work or go grab a tea nearby while we finish. We deal with punctures, balancing, and just selling new sets when the old ones get too bald. Our tools are a bit greasy and the floor is always marked up with tire tracks. We have been at this location in Vadodara for a long time now. It is just us doing the daily grind, through the heat and the rain. Sometimes a customer comes in with a tyre that is completely shredded and we have to figure out if it is fixable or not. We try to work fast because we know people need their cars to get to work. It is a simple business, nothing more than wheels and hard work at the end of the day.
