Dhara Plastic Industries

Our unit is out in the GIDC estate in Por, which is a bit of a drive from the main Vadodara city. The address is 419, and we are right in the middle of the Ramangamdi area. It’s an industrial zone, so don't expect any gardens or quiet spots around here. The building is a standard factory shed where we have the plastic machines set up. It’s loud and it’s dusty, but that’s the nature of the industry. We have a small office space that we use for the paperwork, but most of the time is spent out on the floor. Stacking the plastic products takes up a lot of room, so the layout changes depending on what we are making that week. The trucks come to the gate to load up, and it’s always a rush to get things ready on time. We don't have any polished mission statements or fancy brochures. People who need plastic goods just know where to find us in the estate. The water in this area isn't the best, so we always bring our own bottles from home. Lunch is usually eaten quickly on one of the benches before getting back to the machines. It’s a straightforward life here in the GIDC, focused on hitting the production numbers and keeping the equipment running without too many breakdowns. The evening air is a bit cooler, which makes the pack-up time the best part of the whole shift.
