We operate out of Plot No. 415 in the Gidc Estate. It’s a typical industrial setting where things are heavy and the environment is rough. Forging involves a lot of heat and big machinery, so the building is mostly just a large shell to house all the equipment. It gets very hot inside, especially during the summer months. The sound of the hammers is rhythmic and can be heard from quite a distance away. We have piles of raw metal waiting to be processed and finished parts ready to be shipped out. Everything is covered in a fine layer of dust, and the floor is solid metal or concrete to handle the weight. We don't have fancy offices; the workspace is mostly taken up by the production line. There are a few small rooms for the administrative stuff, but most of us are out on the floor. Safety is something we have to think about constantly because of the moving parts and the heat. We’ve been in the Gidc for a long time, so we know the other businesses around here. It’s a community of factories and workshops. The days are long and the work is tiring, but there is a certain satisfaction in seeing the shapes we can make out of solid steel. We close the big gates at night and the whole place finally goes quiet until the next morning shift starts up again. It is a noisy life but it is what we know.
