Platinum Tanning Industries

Out in the G.I.D.C. Estate at 2805/A. It’s an industrial area, so it’s not exactly pretty. We’re right opposite the Glenmark factory. It’s a big landmark for us. The air here smells like chemicals and machinery. We do tanning work, which is hard and messy. The floors are concrete and usually have some water or stains on them. We have big vats and machines that make a lot of noise. You have to shout sometimes to be heard. It’s hot in the summer, and the tin roof doesn't help much. We have a small office area tucked in the corner where the accounts get done. It’s dusty because of all the trucks passing by outside. Most of us wear heavy boots and aprons. It’s not a desk job. We spend most of the day on our feet. The estate is always busy with workers and transport lorries. We get our tea from a small stall down the road. It’s a rough-and-ready kind of place. We don’t have fancy signs or a lobby. Just a gate and the workshop. We’ve been at this spot for years. Platinum Tanning Industries is just a place where work gets done. It’s practical, industrial, and we don’t try to pretend it’s anything else. When the shift ends, we all gather by the gate for a few minutes before heading home. The G.I.D.C. estate is a tough place, but we've gotten used to it.
