Mona Architect

You can find us in Manjalpur, right on S B Marg Road. It’s a good neighborhood to be in, and we’ve gotten to know a lot of the folks around here. The office is a small space where we do all our architectural work. It’s usually just a couple of us hunched over desks. We don't go in for anything too fancy. We’ve got our computers, some old-fashioned rulers, and a lot of empty tea cups by the end of the day. Working in Manjalpur is nice because it feels like a community. We see the same people walking by every morning. Our work is mostly about figuring out how to make a house or a shop fit into the space available. It takes a lot of thinking and sketching. Sometimes we go through five or six versions of a drawing before it feels right. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. We just do the drawings and talk to the people who need them. It’s a quiet kind of life, mostly focusing on the details that other people might not notice. We try to keep things honest and just do the work as it comes in. There is always a pile of paper somewhere and the phone rings more than we expect, but we just keep moving through the tasks one by one and making sure the lines are where they belong.
