Medical Book Company

Our place is called Medical Book Company and you can find us at Door No. 2 in Vinraj Plaza. We are situated at Kothi Char Rasta, right across from the Government Press. Because we focus on medical books, our shop feels a bit different from a regular fiction bookstore. It’s filled with very heavy, thick volumes about anatomy and medicine. We spend most of our time helping students and doctors find the specific editions they need for their studies or work. The plaza is a busy spot and we have been in this specific unit for quite some time. The shelves are sturdy because they have to hold a lot of weight. We don't have much in the way of decorations; it’s mostly just rows and rows of white and blue book spines. Sometimes the delivery trucks block the entrance for a bit while they are unloading new stock for us or the neighbors. We just work around it. There are usually three of us here during the day, making sure the orders are correct and the shelves are stocked up. It’s a quiet atmosphere inside compared to the busy street outside at the Char Rasta. We don't use any fancy sales tactics or anything. People come here because they know we have what they are looking for. It’s a straightforward business and we like it that way.
