Shreeji Acetylene Company

Operating out of Plot No. 37/A in the Alindra GIDC Estate is what we do every day. Dealing with acetylene means we have to be careful and follow the basic steps every time. It’s not the kind of job where you can daydream. We spend a lot of time checking valves and moving cylinders around the yard. It can be heavy work and the sun really beats down on the pavement out here. Most of the guys have been doing this for a long time and they know the safety routines by heart. We have a small office where we handle the paperwork and talk to the customers who come by. It’s usually pretty quiet except for the sound of the trucks idling while they wait to load up. Alindra is a bit of a drive for some but it’s a good spot for this kind of work. We don't go in for big speeches or fancy logos. We just make sure the gas is ready and the tanks are full. When the day is over we lock up the gate and head home. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy enough that the weeks fly by. We’ve been here at this plot for a good number of years now and we know most of the regulars who come through the gate for their refills.
