We have a fairly large footprint here in the Gidc Estate, spread across Plots 432, 436, and 437. Having three plots means we have a lot of ground to cover every day. We work on structures related to energy, which involves a lot of heavy lifting and welding. The yard is usually full of steel beams and various metal components waiting to be assembled or shipped out. It is a gritty environment, and your clothes are definitely going to get dirty if you spend ten minutes on the shop floor. We have a decent-sized crew to handle the different sections of the work. Some guys are over at 432 doing the cutting, while the assembly mostly happens at 437. It can be a bit of a walk between the buildings, but it keeps us active. We do not go in for fancy office furniture or air conditioning in the main areas. We just use big industrial fans to move the air around. The Gidc is a busy place, and there is always a truck blocking the road or someone delivering supplies. We have learned to just go with the flow. Our focus is just on getting the structures built according to the drawings we get. It is not a glamorous job, but it is what we know how to do. We take the work as it comes and try to stay on top of the schedule.
