The Gidc Ind. Estate is a busy spot, and we are located right at Plot No. 495-1. It’s a warehouse style setup, which is necessary for the kind of trading we do. We have stacks of boxes almost reaching the ceiling, and sometimes it’s a bit of a puzzle to find exactly what we need, but we have our own system that works. It’s mostly about managing the inventory and making sure the trucks can get in and out of the loading area without getting stuck. The road outside can get pretty muddy when it rains, so we spend a lot of time cleaning the entryway. We don’t have a big staff, just a few reliable people who know where everything is kept. We spend a lot of time on the phone or checking the ledger. It’s a lot of counting and double-checking the lists. We aren't trying to be the biggest outfit in the estate, just a steady one. People from the nearby units stop by to chat or ask for something they're short on. It’s a friendly enough place despite all the heavy machinery around us. We usually eat our lunch together in the small room near the back. By the time evening rolls around, we’re usually pretty tired from moving things around. We just lock the shutters and head home, ready to start the whole process over again tomorrow.
