Stuff Dies And Moulds is located at Plot No. 974-8 in the Gidc Ind. Estate. The shop is filled with various blocks of steel and half-finished projects that we move around with the overhead crane when it’s working right. Making dies and moulds is a slow process, and we spend hours just looking at the same piece of metal to make sure the edges are right. It’s dusty work and our clothes usually end up covered in gray soot by the afternoon. We don’t have a fancy showroom. If you come by, you’ll probably find us hunched over a workbench or standing by the lathes. The lighting in the back of the shop isn't the best, so we use portable lamps to see the fine details. We’ve had the same neighbors for years, and we sometimes borrow tools from each other when something breaks. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except for the grinding noise. We don't spend much time on the computer unless we have to check an email or print out a drawing. Most of our notes are scribbled on bits of paper or directly on the workbench with a marker. It’s just how we've always done things. When the weekend comes, we lock up the gate and don't think about steel until Monday morning rolls around again. It’s just a normal job in a normal place for us.
