Shri Kalika Saw Mill

Our saw mill is located in the Makarpura GIDC estate in Vadodara. If you walk past plot 990/2b, you will hear the saws running most of the morning. There is always a lot of sawdust in the air and the smell of cut wood is everywhere. It is a messy place, but that is a saw mill for you. We have been operating out of this spot for years. Vadodara is a busy city, and Makarpura is always loud with industrial noise from all the neighboring factories. We handle different types of timber and cut them to size for whoever walks in. It is mostly manual work, involving heavy lifting and making sure the blades stay sharp enough for the logs. Sometimes the machines act up or the wood isn't perfect, but we deal with it as it comes. The yard is usually full of logs waiting to be processed into planks. We do not have a big marketing team or a fancy lobby with chairs. It is just a bunch of guys working with wood every day. Rain makes things a bit slow because we have to cover the stock, but otherwise, we keep at it. People from around the city come here when they need specific cuts for their local projects. We know most of our neighbors in the estate. It is a hard life but it is honest work. We do not try to be anything we aren't.
