Shree Prakash Spring

Our place is Shree Prakash Spring, located at Plot No. 986-33 in Diamond Park, within the Gidc Ind. Estate. As the name says, we make springs. All kinds of them, big ones for heavy machinery and tiny ones that you can barely hold with your fingers. The coiling machines make a very specific clicking sound that you get used to after a few days. Diamond Park is a busy area, so there’s always trucks moving in and out, which makes it a bit loud outside our door. Inside, we have bins filled with wire of different gauges. Sometimes the wire gets tangled and it takes a whole afternoon to sort it out, which is frustrating but part of the job. We don’t have a big fancy reception area. If you come by, you’ll probably find us near the back where the heat treatment happens. It’s important to get the tempering right or the springs just snap, and nobody wants that. We’ve had some of the same workers for ten years now, so everyone knows their role. We just keep our heads down and fill the orders as they come in. It’s a practical business, nothing glamorous about it. We use greasy gloves and heavy boots. It’s just what we do here in the industrial estate, making sure the parts are ready for whoever needs them next. There is always more wire to bend and more boxes to pack up.
