Our spot is over at Plot No. A-2-485-b-1 in the GIDC area. It’s mostly about keeping the vehicles moving. We spend a lot of time on the phone or checking the logs. The yard gets crowded when everyone is back at the same time. Maintenance takes up a lot of our mornings. There’s always a tire to check or some engine noise that needs looking at. It’s a practical kind of place. We don’t have a big office, just a desk and some chairs where the drivers sit and wait. Sometimes the paperwork piles up on the corner table. We’ve been in this part of the estate for a good bit now. Everyone around here knows our gate. The weather usually dictates how the day goes, especially when it rains and the ground gets muddy. We just keep the tempos running as best as we can. It’s not a quiet job. There is always the sound of engines or people calling out directions. We make sure the loads are tied down right before anyone heads out. It’s mostly just hard work and making sure the keys are where they should be. We don't do anything flashy. It's just about the daily trips and getting back in one piece. We often share a pot of tea in the afternoon while discussing the routes for the next morning. It keeps us going through the long shifts and the hot sun.
