About Reshma Fibre Glass – Building & Construction Material in Vadodara
Working with fibre glass at Plot No. 984-a 4 in the Gidc Ind. Estate means you get used to the itchy feeling on your arms pretty fast. We try to keep the fans going to blow the dust out, but it’s a constant battle. Reshma Fibre Glass isn't a large operation. It’s just a handful of us working in the shed, laying out mats and pouring resin. The smell is quite strong, so we keep the big doors open most of the time to get a breeze. We have stacks of finished products sitting out in the yard waiting for the trucks to come pick them up. Sometimes the rain gets in and we have to scramble to cover everything with plastic sheets. It’s not a very organized place, but we have our own system that works for us. We spend a lot of time cleaning brushes and buckets so they don't get ruined by the hardening resin. It’s a messy business, and our shoes are usually ruined within a month. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby. If you need someone, you just have to walk in and shout until one of us hears you over the noise of the fans. We just focus on getting the shapes right and making sure nothing has air bubbles in it. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy enough throughout the year.
