Our workspace is located at Plot No 779 in the Gidc Makarpura area of Vadodara. Being in an industrial estate like Gidc means we are surrounded by factories and warehouses, but inside our doors, things are a bit different. We deal with creative projects, so you will see a lot of sketches, color swatches, and computers with big screens. It is often a mix of quiet focused work and loud discussions about how to fix a design problem. We have a few printers that are almost always running, and the smell of ink is pretty common. The office isn't very large, so we have to be careful not to let the samples and paperwork pile up too high on our desks. Sometimes we stay late when a project is proving to be difficult, drinking tea and trying out different ideas until something clicks. Vadodara can be very hot, so we appreciate the shade that our building provides during the peak afternoon hours. We don't have a receptionist or a fancy lobby; you just walk in and you're right in the middle of where we work. People from the other units in Gidc often drop by for various small jobs. It is a practical place where we try to solve problems using what we have. We’ve been in this spot for a while now and are used to the rhythm of the industrial park.
