We've been at Plot No. 696 in the GIDC Industrial Estate for a good while now. It’s a busy spot and sometimes the noise from the machines makes it hard to hear much else, but that’s just how things go here at R K Die Works. We spend most of our days working with metal and making dies for whatever comes through the door. It’s dusty work and our hands are usually covered in some kind of grease or oil by the time lunch rolls around. The shop isn't fancy. We have our tools and our benches and we just get on with the jobs people bring us. Most of the guys here have been doing this for years, so we know the quirks of the old machines. Sometimes it gets pretty hot in the summer, especially when all the equipment is running at once, but we have a few fans that help a bit. People find us easily enough because we are right there in the middle of the estate. It’s mostly just a lot of measuring, cutting, and checking things twice. We don’t really have a big front office or anything like that. If someone needs us, they usually just walk straight into the workshop and find one of us near the back. We try to keep things organized, but in a place like this, there’s always a pile of scrap or a tool that didn’t get put back right away. It's just a regular local workshop. We appreciate the people who keep coming back to us year after year. It's not about being the biggest, just about doing the work right and staying busy.
