GIDC is a huge place with lots of different businesses, but we are settled in our little corner. The air always smells a bit like metal and oil here. It’s a working environment, so don’t expect anything fancy. We have our tools and our benches all set up exactly how we like them. Most of the guys have been here for years. We know the machines and their quirks. Vadodara gets pretty hot, and the shed can get warm, but we just get on with it. We don’t really do much in the way of advertising. Most people know where we are. We spend the day moving parts around and checking the work. It’s not a quiet job. There is always some banging or grinding going on. We keep our records in a simple ledger on the desk. Sometimes the power goes out in the industrial zone, but we just wait it out or find something else to clean. It’s a basic setup at 692.
