Patel Fabrication has been operating out of Plot No. 755-3 in the Gidc Ind. Estate for a good number of years. When you walk into the shop, you’re going to smell metal and probably see some sparks flying in the back. That is just the nature of the work we do here. It’s a noisy environment, but we’re used to shouting over the equipment to get a point across. The shop floor is always covered in scraps of metal and various tools that someone forgot to put back in the right drawer. We try to keep it tidy, but when things get busy, that’s the first thing that goes out the window. Our office is just a small partitioned area in the corner with a desk that’s mostly covered in blueprints and half-empty coffee cups. We don't have a receptionist or a fancy waiting room. If you come by, you just walk in and look for someone who isn't wearing a welding mask. The heat can get pretty intense during the peak of the day, so we usually take a long break around two o'clock. It’s a tough job sometimes, and your hands are always dirty at the end of the shift. But there’s a certain satisfaction in seeing a pile of raw materials turn into something useful. We don't make a big fuss about things. We just do the fabrication work and try to keep the customers satisfied so they come back next time.
