Modern Printers

Modern Printers is located at Plot No. 194 on Road 23 in the Gidc Industrial Estate. We’ve been here for a while and the shop has a very specific smell of ink and paper that never really goes away. It’s a working shop, so don’t expect a quiet office environment when you walk in. The machines are usually humming or clacking along, and there’s almost always a stack of paper waiting to be moved to the next table. We spend a lot of time checking the details on the prints and making sure the cutters are sharp enough. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit and we have to wait it out, which gives us a chance to tidy up the scrap bins. We have a few long tables where we sort through everything. Road 23 can get pretty congested with deliveries, so we often have to help guide the trucks into our small loading area. We don't have any sales people or a big fancy front desk. It’s usually just the same couple of us doing everything from answering the phone to packing the boxes. We try to keep things simple and honest. Our days are mostly about meeting deadlines and making sure the machines don’t jam up. It’s a busy life here at number 194, but it keeps us on our toes and the days go by pretty fast.
