Meghna Biochem is based out of Plot No. 81-1 in the GIDC Industrial Estate. It’s a typical industrial setup here, surrounded by other factories and lots of noise. Our plot isn't huge, but it's enough for what we do. We work with various biochemical products, which means there’s always a bit of a chemical scent in the air, though you stop noticing it after the first ten minutes. Most of the staff has been here for years, so we all know the routine. The gate opens early for the morning shift, and we start loading or unloading whatever materials have arrived. It’s not the cleanest job—you’re going to get some dust on your clothes by the end of the shift—but it’s good, steady work. We don't have a fancy office with leather chairs. It’s more about the production floor and making sure the vats and mixers are running like they should. The GIDC roads can be pretty rough, especially during the monsoon, so we spend a lot of time making sure our deliveries don't get stuck. We just focus on the orders we have and try to get them out on time. It's a simple, hardworking environment where everyone knows their job and just gets on with it. There’s no big corporate talk here, just the sound of machinery and people working.
