Meena Plastics

Meena Plastics is based out of Plot No. 882/5, Gidc. Estate. It’s a small operation, mostly just a few machines and a couple of us keeping an eye on them. The smell of melting plastic is something you just get used to after the first week. We spend our days making sure the molds are right and the cooling system is working like it should. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s steady. The estate is always noisy with trucks and other factories nearby, so we don't notice the racket much anymore. Plot No. 882/5 is our second home, honestly. We spend more time here than anywhere else. We don't have a big mission statement on the wall. We just have a calendar with delivery dates circled in red. I usually bring my lunch from home and eat it by the window where there’s a bit of a breeze. We’ve had some of the same customers for years because we just do what we said we’d do. There’s no fancy marketing here. If the machine breaks down, we fix it ourselves. It’s a hands-on kind of place. Sometimes the power goes out in the estate and we all just take a break until it comes back on. That’s just life at Gidc, and we are quite used to the rhythm of it.
