At Kaizen Switchgear Products, we operate out of Plot No. 866-1. If you walk into our place, the first thing you’ll notice is the smell of electrical components and maybe a bit of ozone if we’re testing something. It’s not a quiet place, but it’s a productive one. We spend most of our time dealing with switches and gear that most people never think about until their lights don't come on. We aren't a corporate giant with a glossy lobby. Our lobby is just a desk with some old ledgers and a telephone that rings more than it should. We do a lot of repetitive work, assembly mostly, and it requires a steady hand. If you look at our workbenches, they’re covered in wires, screws, and bits of plastic. We’ve had the same group of workers for a long time, and they can practically do this in their sleep now. Sometimes things go wrong with a batch, and we have to sit there and figure out why, which can be frustrating, but that’s just the nature of electronics. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing person. We just have our address in the Gidc Ind. Estate and a reputation for showing up and getting the crates loaded on the trucks. It’s basic, honest work. We keep the doors open, the machines running, and we try to keep the mistakes to a minimum.
